CAD
All our modeling for this project was done in Solidworks 2022. It allowed us to run simulations and animations of our model, as well as just being a widely popular modeling software.
CAD Broken Down into Parts
Assembly Drawing with Important Parts Labeled
There are not many smaller assemblies in this design unless the lid is counted when it is disconnected from the hinges. Each part is designed to be modular and replaceable without having to take apart the whole box. One example of this is the rollers.
This Solidworks drawing of the final CAD model shows the number of iterations that our group went through during this project, e.g. the version numbers of parts such as the lid and spray arm.
The tank and housing part that is used in this model was scrapped during prototyping, and a precision lab fluid bottle was used instead.

Detailed Parts

The gear train contains:
- Driving/Crank gear
- Two idler gears
- Two roller gears
- One CAM gear
The rollers turn inwards toward each other, and the CAM gear turns clockwise, spinning the CAM backward towards the back of the box

The lid has a few parts:
- The lid body
- Closing latch
- Spray heads
- Spray levers
- Hinge connection holes
- Front and Back spray mounts

The spray works by CAm actuation. The CAM is spun backward, which depresses the spray lever extension arm. The snail-shaped CAM presses more on the extension arm when it is fully extended. When the arm is depressed enough, the spray head will spray.
